Root Canal Treatment in Sector 43, Gurgaon
If a tooth has started to ache at night or hurt when you bite, root canal treatment in Sector 43, Gurgaon can usually save it. The infected tissue inside the tooth is removed, the canals are cleaned and sealed, and the tooth stays in your mouth doing its job. At Modenta Dental Clinic in Sushant Lok Phase 1, the canals are also disinfected with a dental laser, led by Dr Aarti Trakroo, who holds a diploma in laser dentistry from SOLA, Vienna.

Why a tooth needs one
Inside every tooth is a soft core of nerve and blood vessels called the pulp. Deep decay, a crack or an old large filling can let bacteria reach it. Infected pulp cannot heal by itself, and the infection can spread to the bone at the tip of the root.
Signs worth getting checked
- Toothache that lingers after something hot or cold
- Pain that wakes you at night
- Sharp pain when biting on one tooth
- A swelling or small pimple on the gum
- A tooth that has turned dark after an injury
Some infected teeth cause no pain at all and only show up on an X-ray. And not every toothache needs a root canal: decay caught early can often be managed with a filling, which is why the examination comes first.
What the laser changes
Root canals have fine side branches that files cannot fully reach. After the canals are cleaned and shaped in the usual way, the laser is used to disinfect them. It adds to the standard procedure and does not replace it. Patients sometimes notice the difference in how the treatment is explained, too.
"She showed me the before and after X-rays, and the difference was clear."

One sitting or two?
A straightforward tooth can be finished in one sitting. A badly infected or curved tooth may need a second visit before it is sealed, and it is better to wait than to seal infection in. You will be told which applies once the tooth has been X-rayed and opened.
Protecting the tooth afterwards
A root-treated tooth is more brittle than before, so back teeth are usually protected with a crown. Until it is fitted, avoid biting hard on that side. Some tenderness for a few days is normal. Call the clinic if swelling increases or the pain gets worse rather than better. If the tooth cannot be saved, you are told so plainly, and the options are extraction followed by an implant, a bridge or a denture.
The clinic is open all seven days until 8 pm, which helps when a tooth will not wait for the weekend. Call +91 78376 74763 or send a WhatsApp message to book.

Frequently asked questions
Is a root canal painful?
It is done under local anaesthetic, so most people feel pressure rather than pain, much like a filling. The aching tooth often feels better once the infected nerve is removed.
Why not just take the tooth out?
Keeping your own tooth is usually the better long-term choice. Extraction leaves a gap that then needs an implant, a bridge or a denture.
Can an old root canal be redone?
Often, yes. A re-treatment cleans and reseals the canals when an earlier root canal has become infected again. An X-ray shows whether it is worth doing.
Do I need antibiotics?
Not always. Antibiotics do not clear infection from inside a tooth, so the treatment itself is what fixes it. The dentist will prescribe them if your case needs them.
