Dental Implant Specialist in Gurgaon
Almost every clinic in the city now offers implants, so finding a dental implant specialist in Gurgaon comes down to asking better questions. An implant is two jobs in one: minor surgery to place a post in the bone, and precise restorative work to build a tooth on top of it. The person you choose should be trained for both, and should be willing to show you how your case was planned.

What the word specialist should mean
Any qualified dentist may place implants, and "implantologist" is a word anyone can print on a board. A more useful test is the training behind it. An MDS in prosthodontics is a three-year postgraduate degree in replacing teeth, which covers how the bite, the gums and the final crown work together. Ask where a dentist trained, what the degree is in, and whether they place implants regularly or only now and then.
Four questions to ask any implant dentist
- Will you place the implant and also build the tooth on it? When the two steps are split between people, ask who is answerable for the final result.
- What did you look at to decide? A plain X-ray shows height. A CBCT scan shows the bone in three dimensions, which matters near nerves and sinuses.
- What are my other options? A bridge or a denture is sometimes the better answer, and you should hear that from the dentist.
- What would make you say no? Thin bone, gum disease, heavy smoking or poorly controlled diabetes can all change the plan. A careful dentist will name them.
How Modenta answers those questions
Dr Gayathri Sreenivasan holds an MDS in Prosthodontics and Implantology from Sri Ramachandra Dental College, Chennai, and an Advanced Implantology certificate from Kyushu Dental College, Japan. She plans the case, places the implant and fits the crown, so one person carries it from start to finish, with no referral to another clinic for the surgery.
The clinic also has a radiology specialist on its own team. Dr Aarti Trakroo holds an MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology and is certified in CBCT, and reading OPGs and CBCT scans for implant planning is part of her work.
"I’m thoroughly impressed with dr Gayatri’s work. She managed to do my dental implant with such proficiency."

Frequently asked questions
Is a prosthodontist the same as an oral surgeon?
No. A prosthodontist specialises in replacing teeth, so the planning starts from the final tooth and bite. An oral surgeon specialises in surgery of the mouth and jaws. Both can be trained in implants, which is why it is worth asking about the training itself.
Do I need a CBCT scan for every implant?
Not always. It depends on the site and how much the X-ray can show. It is most useful when bone is thin or the implant sits close to a nerve or sinus.
Can a specialist take on a case another dentist turned down?
Sometimes. Bone can occasionally be built up, or a different design may suit. If an implant is still not sensible for you, you will be told so and shown the alternatives.
Who looks after the implant in later years?
The same clinic, at regular check-ups. Healthy gums are what keep an implant stable, so follow-up matters as much as the surgery.
